Today, there is probably a million, or more, results for the term "podcasting" in Google search. Like blogging, podcasting is gaining popularity and is revolutionizing how we share, communicate information.
The main benefit of podcasting is the freedom it gives people to listen at a time and a place of their choosing.
Whether you are interested to learn how to podcast in order to share information, or you just want to listen and learn from existing podcasts, we gathered some online resources to welcome you to the world of podcasting:
General Resources:
- Podcasting-tools.com – this site provides comprehensive information and resources, detailing everything you need to know about podcasting. Its section. “Podcasting Articles,” in particular, contains definitions, how-tos, tools, tips, and even a quiz to test your podcast knowledge.
- Podcasting-Station.com – this site provides a directory of podcasts. It has an Educational Podcasts category which you might find relevant in your teaching.
- Podcastalley.com – this site also indexes podcasts and provides search engine for easy finding of materials.
- Religious-Podcasts.net - this site helps find religious podcasts, with minimal effort.
Specific Educational Resources:
- Epnweb.org (The Education Podcast Network) – Developed by David Warlick and The Landmark Project, EPN puts together into one place a wide range of podcasts that may be helpful to teachers looking for instructional content. Most of the contributors are educators, and the contents are identified into student podcasts and subject-specific podcasts.
- RECAP - This is a UK educational directory to find podcasts from over 340 podcast channels for educational use.
- Connect Learning, with David Warlick – David Warlick’s “personal microphone,” it contains his unconventional ideas about classrooms, teaching, and learning in the 21st century.
